FFL transfers and firearm sales
FFL transfers
$20 per firearm
Each additional firearm in the same transfer is $10.
$15 for active duty, veterans, law enforcement, firefighters, medical and other first responders.
Buying online? Call before you order and I'll get my FFL information to the seller.
Pickup is by appointment. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. You'll fill out ATF Form 4473 and pass a federal background check before taking the firearm home.
You must be 21 or older for handguns and 18 or older for long guns. Handguns can only go to Kentucky residents.
I can't accept transfers of NFA items. See Firearm orders.
Firearm orders
I don't keep inventory on hand, but I can quote and order most firearms. Quotes are good for 7 days, and orders are paid in full up front. The price I quote is the price you pay, plus Kentucky sales tax. There's no transfer fee on firearms bought through ALPHA II GUNWORKS.
I'm not currently an FFL with Special Occupational Tax (SOT) status, so I can't accept orders or transfers for suppressors, short-barreled rifles or shotguns, or other NFA items.
Since January 1, 2026, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act has set the federal $200 tax to $0 for buyers of suppressors, short-barreled rifles and shotguns. Dealers who sell NFA items still pay an annual Special Occupational Tax (SOT). That's hard for small FFLs working on thin margins to cover, and it's a major reason many of us don't have SOT status. If you'd like to see that tax removed too, please let your members of Congress know. Thank you!
Discounts for active duty, veterans, law enforcement, firefighters, medical and other first responders on all services except new firearm sales. Ask when you call.
Training
Calm, patient instruction. No drill-sergeant routine. I keep students safe and relaxed so they can actually learn, an approach I sharpened as Shooting Sports Director at a local Boy Scout camp, teaching young shooters firearms knowledge, skills and attitude.
Classes start at $75 per person, including course materials such as books and certificates. Range fees, ammunition and loaner firearms aren't included.
I schedule a class once enough people sign up, and I can teach on-site for groups that have their own range. Students under 18 need a parent or guardian's signed permission.

About the shop
I grew up tearing things apart to see how they worked, then putting them all back together, from Tonka toys and bicycles to computers and cars. That tinkering, my love of the outdoors and hunting, teaching shooting sports to my sons and other young people at a local Boy Scout camp, and my enjoyment of firearms all led me to the work I do today.
ALPHA II GUNWORKS LLC has been open since 2019. It's a small, veteran-owned shop, and every job is done by appointment.
